The Gloam Trenches are jagged canyons that split the surface of Sibylen like scars, up to a kilometer deep. They are the most famous and significant archaeological feature on the planet, known to explorers across the sector and the site of most xenoarchaeological expeditions there. The ruins within are labyrinths of black stone etched with pulsating lines of silvery metal that defy analysis. The sites are known to shift mysteriously: mapping efforts are notoriously unreliable, as tunnels sometimes appear to move or reconfigure between visits.
