Yana 7 is the owner and corporate representative of Scrap Jack’s Refueling and Grub, a fuel station in the Orus system. She wears a formal power suit and runs the station’s administrative office, managing day-to-day operations alongside the station AI, Buddy.
The crew met her in Episode 10 when they stopped at the station to refuel (weapons had to be left aboard ship per station policy). Shortly after, the Void Cultists took over the station and activated a void ansible, and Yana was swept up in the crisis alongside the crew and other station regulars. Over Episodes 11 and 12, the crew fought to retake the station, ultimately destroying the void rift and antenna and ending the incursion.
By the end of Episode 12, Yana and Thorne had struck up a romance; the two have kept in touch since via exo-mail. She’s spoken warmly of the Zephyran people, telling Thorne: “I have heard of Zephyrus. I heard that the people from there are known for their beauty.”
