Scrap Jack’s Refueling and Grub is an interstellar truck stop and fuel depot in the Anagris system, orbiting near the desert world Pare, far out from the inner systems. It has ten landing pads and serves as a waypoint for long-haul spacers, run by an administrator named Yana with a station AI named Buddy.
The station enforces a strict no-weapons policy, with scanning at the airlock and key-card access for the visitor dorms. Security carries only batons.
The crew stopped here for fuel and found the station taken over by fifteen Void Cultists (Ep 10-11), who were using an antenna-like device to tear open a rift into the void. With their weapons left behind per station policy, the crew had to retrieve them, save hostages, and stop the ritual. During the ordeal, Haleyy touched a void tendril reaching through the rift and had a vision of surgeons implanting a worm-like machine in her; security officer Dan Grand was knocked unconscious early in the attack. This was an early appearance of the cult’s “Unhallowed” and “untethered” terminology. After the crew defeated the cultists, the station’s mechanics agreed to fix The Scapegoat for free.
