The Auctioneers Guild is a sector-wide neutral body that facilitates the transfer of contested assets: alien exosites, xeno-archaeology finds, liquidated research firms, and anything else that would spark inter-corporate conflict without a neutral third party involved. It belongs to no corporation and answers to none of them, not Virodyne Labs, Nexus Trading, or any other power operating in the Viridian Expanse.

The Guild’s mandate is to run auctions and process asset transfers, taking a cut of every transaction. Nearly every inter-corporate deal in the sector runs through it in some form, from formal auctions down to private ship sales.

The Guild has no standing army, only guards, and its power is entirely soft. Every major corporation depends on access to its auctions, so none can afford to move against it without the others intervening. It also keeps an audit log of every transaction it has ever processed, which gives it quiet leverage simply by existing, and any corporation caught violating auction neutrality can be banned from future bidding, a punishment no corporation can afford.

The Guild operates everywhere corporations do business, including Sibylen, with representatives recognizable by their ceremonial robes.

Key Representatives

Meer Prust is the Second High Auctioneer Representative for Sibylen, with offices in The Spigot.

Campaign Appearances

  • Ep 21: Meer Prust arrived during Viktor Strake’s interrogation of the crew of The Scapegoat, forcing Strake to release them for 24 hours so a Guild auction could proceed, and backed Thorne’s legal argument. Prust then conducted the auction for Exosite 34b.
