Lokipon is an in-universe collectible card game, similar in spirit to Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon. Decks and cards turn up scattered through the campaign, first found at the Glendale Hotel and 17 Millbrook Lane on Wafisa, including pre-built decks discovered in a child’s bedroom.
The game has become a running bit of levity for the crew, who collect the cards obsessively in-game. Thorne and Robert Ross are its most enthusiastic players and collectors, while Haleyy keeps a deck in her bunk mostly to practice, despite not being very good at it.
Rules
The rules have been improvised collaboratively at the table as the game recurs. What’s been established so far: the goal is to avoid catching any Lokipon. The creatures want an owner and are constantly trying to attach themselves to someone, but a Lokipon distracts from real life and drains funds. The win condition is to make an opponent catch a Lokipon instead; whoever ends up stuck with one loses. Trap cards can force this on an opponent. Known Lokipon include “Danger Pa,” and known card types include Terria, a kind of mana.
