The Switching Station is a two-story building on Wafisa that controls the methane pipeline feeding Voss’s research base, with three rooms on the ground floor and two upstairs. The front has a double door and no windows; a window at the rear of the building offers another way in.
The Guardians of the Great Work had shut off the gas main to Voss’s outpost, forcing her to run on extremely limited power and disconnect from the ExoNet. She asked the crew to restore the methane flow as their first task (Ep 3). The crew destroyed the switching station to do it, restoring methane flow to Mistretta 4 and denying it to the Guardians (Ep 4). While they were away, the Guardians broke into and stole The Scapegoat.
