Marun was a void cultist stationed at Exosite 34b on Sibylen, part of the Void Cultists. On the job he went by his cult title, referring to himself in the third person: “Old Brother Calyx has got himself a cat. This is the best day ever.” He carried himself with a soldier’s bearing, dressed in heavy cult armor.
When the crew arrived at Exosite 34b, Marun was crouched petting Percy, the crew’s cat. Combat broke out, and after his partner was killed he tried to surrender, giving his name as Marun and offering to explain himself, then inviting the crew to join the Void Cult, calling it a source of purpose. When he refused to reveal why Rynn Kade was present at the site, declaring he’d rather die than betray the cult, Haleyy killed him.
