Novacrypt is a corporation that moved into Prometheon Station’s system at the very end of Season 1, after a Trinity-class fleet cruiser picked up the energy readings of the station going critical and came to investigate. Finding the installation abandoned, well-equipped, and effectively undefended, Novacrypt swooped in, set up shop, and brought in more ships over the following days. When Virodyne ships eventually arrived to check on their asset, they turned and left without firing a shot rather than challenge the Novacrypt fleet already in place.
Novacrypt now owns the system outright, including whatever Prometheon Technologies was building at the station, and appears to be working alongside The Concordant, the newly-seated virtual intelligence running the station day to day. Rather than treat the crew of The Scapegoat as trespassers, Novacrypt offered them a legitimate contractor deal, buying out Thorne, Reginald “Froggy” Vance, and Felix’s outstanding arrest records in the process. Omnitek Holdings, however, declined to release its claim on Robert and Iso (its clones) or Haleyy (its “experimental psychic warrior”) that easily.
