Omnitek Holdings is a relatively new corporation that has grown by purchasing prison inmates to serve out their sentences on contract, alongside ordinary non-prisoner contracts. It is owned by Virodyne Labs, a fact confirmed on-air both by Dr. Elara Voss (Episode 8) and by Viktor Strake, who told the crew outright that “this is a ship owned by Omnitek, and Omnitek is owned by Virodyne” (Episode 7). Its insignia is gold, and it employs roughly 5,000 workers across administration, manual labor, engineering, security, and special operations.

Behind its public face, Omnitek runs Operation Red Wing: it buys prisoner contracts at double the going rate, converts the prisoners’ consciousness into AI test subjects (killing them in the process), and runs the resulting AIs through nightmare simulations. This program was uncovered by Felix Champlin and his brother during a heist on Omnitek’s orbital data vault above Polyphn.

Omnitek also ran a clone program that produced an experimental squadron of soldiers, including Robert Ross, deployed to Ventos. That program was scrapped after the disaster there. Separately, Omnitek is digging for ancient alien technology deep beneath the surface of Polyphn using contracted laborers.
