Sabien is the silver-haired leader of The Listeners, the gas-masked faction running the labor and security side of Prometheon Station. Mid-fifties, long black coat, crowbar in hand, he’s polite even while cornering the crew, opening every encounter with his hands up and a request to talk before anyone starts shooting.

He introduced himself by name for the first time when the crew came face to face with him deep in the station’s warehouse district, insisting he only wanted to recruit them, specifically singling out Haleyy and Thorne as people he wanted on his side. The crew wasn’t interested. Across two different attempts inside the same time loop, Sabien died twice: shot in the head after his hands-up introduction, and later found already dead, one of five listeners left riddled with laser fire outside the admin wing, killed by Viktor Strake as an unsolicited favor to the crew, with a note reading only “you’re welcome” left on the body.

He carried body armor, a cloak, a fork-shard pendant, and a pair of etched metal spheres, similar to a device seen used on Sibylen to detect people touched by the void, which the crew took and put to their own use afterward.

On the final loop (Ep 33), with the station tearing itself apart, Sabien found the crew again unarmed and begged to team up, claiming the Listeners had lost all control of the Unhallowed to the gyroscope itself. Haleyy and Thorne took him along, disarmed and watched closely, and he fed them details about the station’s alien “fork” technology along the way. When the horde broke through during the final push to free Voss, Sabien reached for Robert’s help, and Robert shot him rather than risk it, ending the question of whether he could be trusted for good. This time there was no reset to undo it.
